Things To Do In Panama City and PCB

Naps are so awesome (Just sayin'), but then there are times for adventures! There are so many fun things to do in Panama City, Florida and the beach beyond.

Since moving to this area, the really interesting (and kind of weird!) thing I've discovered is that if I go someplace great, something else great is within a very short distance. Given, it is a tourist magnet, but I still think it's quite the anomaly. Maybe it's just me.

I do have to say that if I am ever bored, it's only because I chose to be bored, not because I ran out of things to do.

For the sake of time and space, I'm going to be covering both Panama City and Panama City Beach (PCB). It would actually make for a much shorter list to talk about what you don't have at your disposal here. But, for the sake of keeping your calendar loaded with fun and interesting things to do, here we go:

Enjoy The Great Outdoors...

Visit The Beaches: Panama City is close to multiple bodies of water, most including sandy beaches. Regardless...WATER! North Bay, Grand Lagoon, St Andrews Bay, and Deer Point Lake are the closest, before traveling toward Panama City Beach and the Gulf Of Mexico. It's lovely and peaceful, no matter where you choose to go.

Panama City Beach itself is known for its beautiful white-sand, quartz beaches and clear blue waters. If you've never been around a body of water you can see into, you're in for a treat. The color is a brilliant blue and you can often see straight to the bottom. You can opt to go swimming, sunbathing, surfing, or simply walk or relax on the beach. Beach access is abundant! If you decided to or are considering bringing a furry four-legged friend with you, find all the info you need to know about bringing your dog to Panama City and find some pet-friendly hotels to stay in. 🐶

Go Fishing: I'm not talking about the card game. The Gulf of Mexico is home to all sorts of fish, including redfish, flounder, and grouper. I personally am a big fan of the catfish around Panama City. You can go fishing from the shore, from a boat, or even from a pier. If you like, branch out of the norm and fish for some shrimp or crab. Blue crabs and Stone Crabs are popular treats here. You can charter a boat, snag some right from the shore, or from the ever popular pier areas. Fishing is one of the more popular things to do in Panama City and Panama City Beach.

Shop Until You Drop...

Farmers Markets: There's something special about doing your shopping at a Farmer's Market. We have a number of them. The smell of kettle corn wafting throughout the booths and booths of fresh grown fruits & vegetables and handmade items just gives me a small town feel. Check out the local Farmer's Markets here

Go Shopping: There's a wide variety of shopping options, from big-box stores to small boutiques. You can find everything from souvenirs to clothes to electronics. There are a lot of great, quirky places to shop around the Panama City area, but PCB really shines for that sort of thing. Pier Park comes to mind immediately. If you're a shopaholic, you may need therapy after your visit. Hehe.

Go Snorkeling: Have you ever thought it would be fun to be up close and personal with the creatures under the sea? I bet they would like to make a new friend. It doesn't take a lot of money to do and you'll have experiences that you'll talk about for a long time. I'll help you with that.

Even More Things To Do In Panama City...

Visit The Marinas: The marinas are wonderful places that I frequent often. Boats, fishing, sea life, water, dining...what's not to like? All of them are worth a visit, whether you're a boater or not. Check them out here...

Visit The Zoo: Lions and tigers and bears...OH MY! We have a zoo, chock full of gorgeous animals, that is really cool. I have an annual pass, so I get to go see all of them any time I want. It gets that dopamine flowing. Check out Zoo World here!

Visit The Waterpark: What would Florida be without great places to cool off on a hot day? The water parks have a variety of slides, pools, and other attractions. When that summer heat hits, you're really going to be happy that you're in close proximity.

Visit The Museums: Panama City and PCB have a variety of museums, including the Bay County Historical Museum, Maritime Museum of the Gulf Coast, Panama City Publishing Company & Museum, Man in the Sea Museum, and more. All sorts of fascinating things to enjoy in the area.

See A Show: There's a ton of terrific live entertainment options, from local musicians and concerts to plays to comedy shows. Events are an everyday occurrence.

Take In The Symphony: If you enjoy great music, the Panama City Symphony Orchestra is a terrific option. The concerts and events are so lovely!

Go On A Boat Tour: Boat tours are so much fun and include dolphin tours, sunset cruises, and fishing charters. How would you like to sail on a pirate ship? It can happen! There's nothing quite like being out on a boat. Maybe I'll put a bee in your bonnet about buying your very own.

Visit The Parks: We have many parks, including St. Andrews State Park (Shell Island is a treat!), Oaks by the Bay Park, Leslie Porter Park, Lynn Haven Bayou Park & Preserve, and Frank Brown Park. Sports activities, hiking, biking, fishing, camping, kayaking, and more are all fun options. Many places have nice boat launches, so be sure to bring your boat!

Christmas Time: When that time of the years comes, you're in for something really special! Head over to my Christmas In Panama City Beach page to check out some of the fun Christmassy things to do in Panama City and PCB.
